The Global Guide starts with a section titled "Interesting Facts" and discusses the smallest and largest countries of the world, the independent countries in the world covered by CountryWatch Inc., the territories and specially-administered areas of the world, and the countries which have become the newest members of the global community of nation states.  The Global Guide also include discussions about current geopolitical themes, such as globalization, nationalism and balkanization.  Detailed discussions about some of the world's most contested issues are also covered in the section titled "International Hot Spots."  Finally, the Global Guide also includes visual imagery in the form of a collection of thematic maps. The Global Guide is intended to expand knowledge about the countries of the world.  As such it functions as a supplementary resource to individuals simply interested in the international spectrum.
